Cruz was put under anesthesia at 2:40 pm. Dr. Mohney and Dr. Pulido talked to us at 3:15 pm stating that he has a slight detachment of his retina. We were given two choices. The first is to keep him under and put a "belt" around his eye in an attempt to have the retina reattach. The second is to wait for a week and put the belt on, and to put new oil in his eye. We decided to have the belt put on now. Cruz will be put under next week again to check his eye and may have additional surgery if the retina is still not attached at that time.
